An Enid man's facing a decade to life in prison, after authorities say he assaulted a woman while armed with a steak knife.

Forty-one-year-old William Preston was arraigned Thursday in Garfield County District Court.

The woman told police Preston tried to attack her with the knife on July fifth, but she took it from him and stabbed him in the arm.

Because of two prior felony convictions, Preston could receive ten years to life in prison.

Preston is currently free on bond. His next court appearance is set for August 27th.
