Commuters are going to have something else to stare at on highways while driving other than bumpers on the way home in the future.
A new paper in the Annals of Tourism Research says that driverless cars will lead to more people having sex on the road. It argues that the relative privacy of a vehicle and the ability to let a self-driving car do all the work will free people up. It claims sex tourism will increase in areas where prostitution is legal.
Around 60-percent of Americans have already had sex in a car so the theory is solid. As driverless cars become common, that number is expected to increase according to the survey. However, it says sex in autonomous vehicles likely won't become reality until the 2040s.
