TOOL Announces First Tour Dates Of 2020

2017 Governors Ball Music Festival - Day 3

Tool's U.S. tour in support of Fear Inoculum will continue early next year, with the band announcing 11 more shows in 2020.

The legendary progressive metal band hit No. 1 on the Billboard album charts in September with its fifth LP, making it the biggest charting album debut from a rock band in over a year. The band has been on a sold-out tour supporting the album since mid-October.

Tool announced the additional tour dates Monday. The itinerary includes several more concerts in California, as well as dates in Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana.

Tickets go on sale, starting Friday, November 15 at 10 a.m., with VIP packages available to Tool Army members, starting Wednesday, November 13 at 10 a.m.

The highly anticipated Fear Inoculum arrived 13 years after Tool's previous LP. It also came mere weeks after the band's music first arrived on digital music streaming services.

While much was made over the time period between albums, drummer Danny Carey explained recently that in terms of actual time spent on new material, the band didn't take much longer than normal. He went so far as to say the album might have been "rushed."
