YUNGBLUD Invites Fans To Studio For Making Of 'Waiting On The Weekend'

On Monday (January 13), YUNGBLUD posted a new behind-the-scenes video of the making of his ballad, “waiting on the weekend” off his 2019 EP, the underrated youth, and it'll take your breath away.

As you'll see in the clip, Dom's usual hyper and energetic self is toned down during the recording and it's just him and his guitar. The raw vocals and quiet guitar is enough to give anyone chills compared to the smoother mixed and mastered version of the track.

“This was the exact moment waiting on the weekend was recorded,” he wrote in an Instagram post. Fans get a glimpse of the song coming to life from Dom sitting in the vocal booth to giddily listening to the playback at the end of the video.

This isn't the first time YUNGBLUD has given fans an inside look at his life. At the end of 2019, he released a mini-documentary showcasing life on the road. He also shared an empowering short film, lonely together, where he discusses his origin story and talks to fans about their own hardships, and how they can rise above them.

While “waiting on the weekend” is from his 2019 EP, YUNGBLUD is hard at work in the studio recording the followup to his debut album, 21st Century Liability. He recently opened up explaining that the whole collection of songs is influenced by his loyal fans.

“A lot of the new material’s about the stories I’ve heard from them, the things that they have gone through,” he explained. Including one very special song titled “Mars.” The singer is also apparently collaborating with Post Malone on his new album — so we better get BTS footage of that recording sesh!
