According to several sources Chris Cornell's Widow Vicky Cornell is suing Soundgarden over royalties owed and the rights to some unreleased songs. Kim Thayil has said in the past that Soundgarden would like to release a new album using demos that Cornell had made, but they were having trouble getting them from his estate. One of interesting bits coming from the lawsuit is the fact that Vicky maintains that Chris was working on solo music - not a new Soundgarden album. Thayil and the rest of the band are claiming songwriting credits on 5 of the 7 unreleased songs and saying that they had a rekindled energy and creativity before Cornell died. We'll probably have to settle for reissues.
